The Butterfly Effect is the idea that small actions can create far-reaching change. In the context of DEBRA Australia, it reflects the collective impact of every rider, runner, volunteer, donor, organiser and supporter who contributed to raising awareness and funds for people living with Epidermolysis Bullosa.

During my time supporting DEBRA Australia, the events I was involved in helped contribute to more than $242,000 being raised for the Nurse and Research programs — vital initiatives supporting people and families affected by EB.

As a volunteer photographer, my role was to document those moments of action and care: preserving the people, places and stories behind the fundraising. These images are part of that ripple — a visual record of community, endurance, compassion and support for those living with butterfly skin.
